As you prepare to start high school, you have a lot to consider.
One of those considerations is which English course you are interested in being placed in.
You options for next year are English 9 or English 9 Honors.

In addition to being exceptional in these areas, having excellent grades, and showing a capacity for success, your writing will also be evaluated.
I will be using your Great American Speech essay as well as your summary of your summer reading novel as samples of expository writing. You will also be completing a resume and cover letter as an example of persuasive writing and to communicate which course you feel will be the best fit for you as a student. |
Cover Letter - Due Thursday, January 29, 2015
Along with the cover letter, you will include a resume. I know you will not have a ton of activities or experiences to include, but this should show me the experiences that you have had in middle school that make you a unique candidate.
This should clearly define your objective (which class you would like to be placed in) as well as highlight your educational experiences and any extracurricular activities that you have been involved in.
